Resently our family has started the family devotional by Ruth Graham, "Step into the Bible." We read the days devotional and then all take turns saying a short pray. We go around taking turns until we decide it's Daddy's turn to close us in pray. I cannot even begin to tell you what a sweet time this is. It has become one of my most favorite times in our day!
Yesterday in my own devotions I read something that was truly convicting to me. "Being listened to spells the difference between feeling accepted and feeling isolated." And the Bible verse for the day was, "Let the wise listen and add to their learning." Proverbs 1:5. Oh the things I've heard my sweet 4 year old pray in the past few days. Prayers for a friends sick grandpa. Prayer of thanksgiving for her family, her sister, the beautiful day outside, being able to go ice skating and even being able to go to Chunky Cheese w/ a good friend (yes....she calls it Chunky Cheese).
I can't stop listening. I don't want to! I'm loving drinking in these minutes and I pray that when my girls are older, they come to me to listen to them. And I pray all the more that I have a listening ear and not a solve the problem attitude!
Who do you need to listen to today?
