No, No, No

It started Saturday morning. I was getting ready to leave the girls with Mema and Grampy. The little one was sitting on Grampy's lap and the big one had already changed into a Princess dress. She had the shoes to match on and was proceeding into Mema's bathroom to put on a little of all of Mema's make-up (she looked beautiful!). I looked over at my sweet little girl and she did it! I don't remember really if I did it first at what she was doing...something my dad was saying, or just in disbelief at how stinking cute she is! But she did it...she shook her head "No." And so I did it. And she copied me. And I said look mom! We did it again and again and we squealed! It was so cute, but oh, what have I started!?! I hope you enjoy the videos of her "new trick." And also of my sweet princess dancing and singing! Have I mentioned how much I love my girls?

Here's a free one...just cause she's just so pretty...I couldn't deprive you of seeing it!

Sweet Dreams

Every once in a while it happens...both girls go down for naps at the same time. Most days, I go with them. I love the cuddle time. I love the peace. I'm drinking up every moment more and more, because they are flying by and I realize they won't be this little forever! Sweet dreams my sweet girls. Dreams of chocolate (that's mine), becoming a Princess (she already is in my eyes), crawling so you can get where you want (she's been up on all fours the past two days and I'm sure she'll be off before I know it or am truly ready for it). Right now, I'll pray over you. That one day, you'll ask Jesus into your heart and that you'll love Him and pursue an intimate relationship with Him. I'll pray that God be preparing the man that you'll marry someday. That he'll love God as much as you will and you will both serve Him together. I'll pray that your hearts will be totally protected by their Creator from the hurt in the world. I love you both! Sweet dreams.

Yo, Yo. Wazz-up, Queenie

So, we were invited and accepted the invitation to come hang out with some friends while their boys celebrated their t-ball opening day. It was a blast! Bounce houses, ball throwing and lots of running and sliding in the grass. My sweet little princess...the one in the pink dress in earlier posts...kept up with those boys...just like she was one! She threw the ball, bounced as high, if not higher and chewed that BIG piece of gum with the best of them! We left and she and her dad were living it up (and he was loving having a "tom girl" for a moment!). I sit there while he's teaching her to say, "Yo, Yo. Wazz-up?" And I have to bring her back to reality. You're still my little princess, right? Nah. You're the Queen though. "Yo, Yo. Wazz-up, Queenie?" Out of the mouth of my little babe. Quick someone run and grab her little Princess dresses! Get them on her fast! Wave some lipstick under her nose! I want my little girl back!!!!!

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego

So, I'm at a wonderful breakfast with my mom and sweet little girl when the call comes in. My cousin's house has caught fire and burned to the ground. Was anyone inside? No. What about the animals? No, not them either. Ok. Wow! What do you do? What do you say? My heart was at peace that no one was hurt. Not a hair on their head. Maybe their heart broke over things lost and the work it will take to clean up what's left and build a new home. But their physical bodies were protected and spared.
I sat today and thought of the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and I am so glad that I serve a God that spares lives from fire. I'm glad I'm part of a family that pulls together in tough times and helps each other out! I'm proud of a cousin that wants to help even though he is in a tough situation! Wow! The lessons learned and relearned from a fire!
Wishing I was closer to hug necks and help clean-up and rebuild!

Here's the story from their local news station if you'd like to check it out!

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual 20 and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. 21 So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. 22 The king's command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, 23 and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace. 24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, "Weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?" They replied, "Certainly, O king." 25 He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods." 26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!" So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, 27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. 28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, "Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. (Daniel 3:16-28 NIV)
